New Entrants - Information for Parents of the Under 5's
We are pleased to welcome new children to Parnell District School. We
believe it is a warm and caring place for your five year old to start
their educational journey.
At Parnell District School, children begin school on or after their 5th birthday. Parents of new entrants are invited to pick up an enrolment pack for their child from the school office before their child is due to start school. Inside the pack is an enrolment form which needs to be returned to the school office prior to the child starting school.
Welcome and Information Meetings for the Parents of New Entrant children take place twice during the year. These meetings give parents the opportunity to ask any questions that they may have, meet the class teacher and they provide an opportunity for the children to have short tour of the school.
The basic requirements for enrolment include:

- enrolment at any time after the child's 4th birthday
- the child must live In Zone - see here for In Zone Streets
- proof of address must be provided
- evidence of Immunisations must be provided
- the Birth Certificate must be shown
